Manufacturing/Application Engineer

Global Gear & Machining is looking for a full-time onsite Manufacturing/Application Engineer that will support all manufacturing activities related to the specific application and be the in-house expert in that specific area.
Job Title: Manufacturing/Application Engineer
Essential Job Functions
- Create process drawings in AutoCAD and/or Solid works.
- Create tooling layout sheets and setup sheets.
- Create CNC programs using a CAM software like Esprit or MasterCAM for turning and/or milling processes.
- Setup CNC machines, qualify the new CNC programs, and establish a process that can be handed down to production department to run production jobs.
- Learn new skill and create Work Instruction for operator or setup man.
- Evaluate new technologies in their area of expertise and make decisions regarding their application into manufacturing.
- Provide input for the selection of purchased capital equipment.
- Evaluate and assess all planning to support more efficient processes and product flow.
- Support shop floor personnel in trouble-shooting process and/or quality problems associated with part manufacture in their area of expertise.
- Continually review and optimize existing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and quality
- Properly select tooling and fixture in their area of expertise.
- Evaluate and improve existing tools/fixtures to support more efficient processes and product flow.
- Ability to train other employees as needed.
- Ability of organize his/her daily activities with min. supervision.
- Ability to provide detailed information to support the quoting process.
- Ability to handle pressure and heavy workload.
- Ability to communicate to manager, colleague, setup man and operator in an effective and harmonious manner.
- Ability to take on other duties as may be assigned

Education – Bachelor’s degree in engineering from four-year College or University preferably in a technical area or equivalent experience; Or demonstrated proficiency from on-the-job training of 4 years or more.
Experience/Training – 3-5 years related experience or training.
Computer Skills – CAD/CAM Software and Microsoft Office Suite
