April 7, 2022, Alexandria, VA โ The American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) recently concluded the 2022 Annual Meeting which took place in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, from March 31 to April 2. On the final evening of the 2022 Annual Meeting, AGMA presented numerous awards, including the prestigious Hall of Fame Award. This was the first time a Hall of Fame Award was presented to a person or company since 2016.
Hall of Fame Award Recipient:
Martin Kapp, Kapp Niles GmbH, was presented the AGMA Hall of Fame Award in 2022. Martin is recognized for his leadership and involvement in AGMA throughout his career. As a board member and volunteer over the years, Martin was a significant player in the association and always did what he could to be involved and have his staff on committees. He also gave back through sponsorships, industry knowledge, and providing AGMA and its members with what they needed to be successful.
The Hall of Fame Award is presented by AGMA to the rare individual or company for years of service to the Association and to the gear industry. Criteria for choosing a recipient include:
- Any person, living or deceased, who has made noteworthy and specific contributions that have improved the gear industry or AGMA is eligible; a company may also be nominated for its significant contribution to the industry.
- The individualโs or companyโs contributions may be related to innovation, contributions to the gear art, or industry leadership.
- The nomination can be based on the engineering achievement, invention, corporate and industry leadership, educational impact, or pioneering success of the nominee.
- The Hall of Fame should be reserved for the โbest of the bestโ and therefore should be awarded only when the need arises.
