August 31, 2022, Alexandria, VA — The American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) held an open house event and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the National Training Center (NTC), located in Chicago on August 24, 2022. The event was successful, not only allowing members and community leaders to view the facility, but also affording numerous networking opportunities for those in attendance.
Approximately 100 people attended the event over the course of its three-hour duration, including representatives from AGMA member companies, City Colleges of Chicago affiliates, and other local community leaders.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony started with brief remarks from five people:
- Matthew Croson, President, AGMA
- Greg Schulte, President, Bonfiglioli; Chairman, AGMA Board of Directors
- Ruth Johnston, CEO & President, Croix Gear & Machining
- Janine Janosky, PhD, President, City Colleges of Chicago – Richard J. Daley College
- Angelica Guerrero-Cuellar, Illinois State Representative, 22nd District
The AGMA NTC is a hub for AGMA educational courses, but it is also an available resource to AGMA members. It can be used to host professional meetings and similar events. “The National Training Center open house was warmly received by our membership, and we are ecstatic that the event had such a great turnout,” said Matthew Croson, President, AGMA. “Many of our members have already utilized the facility by participating in an AGMA course, and we hope to see the facility usage rise as more members use the space for professional events.”
“AGMA’s National Training Center is a great example of developing partnerships,” stated Mary Ellen Doran, Executive Director, AGMA Foundation. “This facility allows us to build our relationships with Daley College and its immediate community, manufacturing organizations in the greater Chicago area, AGMA members, and the companies that have generously donated machines, maintenance, supplies, and materials.”
